7x19 Black Oxide Wire Rope

7x19 black oxide Wire Rope is a flexible multi-strand Steel Cable finished with black oxide surface treatment, widely used for rigging, control cables, overhead lifting, stage rigging and general industrial tensioning applications.

Construction

The 7×19 layout means 7 strands are twisted together, and each strand is made of 19 fine steel wires (1+6+12 lay inside each strand). Total 133 individual wires form the rope. Compared with 7×7 wire rope, it delivers superior flexibility and bending fatigue resistance, suitable for repeated bending, winding around sheaves and dynamic movement scenarios.

Black Oxide Finish

Black oxide (bluing) is a chemical conversion coating that creates a uniform matte black layer on the steel surface.

• It provides mild anti-rust protection and reduces light reflection
• Preserves the original dimension and tensile strength of the wire rope, no coating thickness buildup
• Reduces friction and galling between wires during flexing
• Gives a neat dark appearance, preferred for stage, display and aesthetic-focused installations

Note: Black oxide is not equivalent to galvanizing or stainless steel. It offers limited corrosion resistance; extra lubrication or sealing is recommended for humid and outdoor long-term exposure.

• Choose black oxide for indoor, dry environments or where a black look is required
• For coastal, high-moisture or heavy corrosion conditions, galvanized or Stainless Wire Rope is recommended
• Always work within the safe working load (SWL); do not overload or shock-load the cable
• Regular inspection for broken wires, abrasion and rust is required for lifting service
