Stainless Steel Aircraft Cable

"Aircraft cable" is the industry term for a range of flexible Stainless Steel Wire ropes. Their design concept is straightforward: to achieve maximum strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining sufficient flexibility to operate over pulleys or around tight-radius bends. It is the standard choice for control systems and rigging applications where failure due to chance is simply not an option.

 

These cables are constructed from seven strands of wire (with six strands wrapped around a central core) and come in three primary standard configurations, each offering a different balance between flexibility and rigidity:
